Build Quality and Ergonomics
The Viper V3 Pro is the rare ultralight that does not feel like a sacrifice. Razer hollowed the chassis with internal ribbing rather than honeycomb cutouts, which keeps the shell rigid and dust resistant while dropping mass to 54 g. The matte coating is grippier than the Superlight 2 out of the box, and the side buttons have a tighter, more positive click than the V2 Pro. Razer also ships pre cut grip tape in the box, which is the right call. The optional 4K HyperPolling dongle bundle adds $20 and is the version most buyers should pick.
Performance and Latency
Focus Pro 35K Gen-2 is functionally indistinguishable from Logitech's HERO 2 in real play, with 750 IPS tracking and 70 G acceleration tolerance. Where Razer pulls ahead is the switch package: Optical Gen-3 actuators eliminate the contact bounce that triggers double clicks on mechanical switches, and they are rated for 90 million presses. Click latency measures at 1 ms over the 8K HyperPolling dongle, and HyperSpeed wireless stays within 0.5 ms of wired across the 1 to 8 metre range we tested.
Software and Customization
Razer Synapse 4 brings the Viper into the modern era. The DPI Sensitivity Matcher lets you copy a target mouse's exact response curve, the Asymmetric Cutoff feature separates lift off and landing distances independently, and the new on the fly polling switcher lets you flip between 1K, 4K, and 8K without unplugging the dongle. Profiles store on the mouse itself, so swapping between desktops and a tournament rig is painless. Razer Synapse remains Windows only.
Real World Use
By the end of the 2025 VCT season the Viper V3 Pro had become the second most used mouse on the Valorant pro tour behind the Superlight 2, and the most used at the upper tier of CS2 Major qualifiers. The shape is closer to the original Razer Viper than the V2 Pro, with a flatter hump and shorter overall length that suits a true claw or fingertip grip. Palm grippers with larger hands will probably want the Superlight 2 Dex or a Zowie EC3-CW instead.
